TMS Technology

There are two discussions about the technology used in the Training Management System. One discussion concerns the “minimalist” approach to the programming, which is necessary to enable the online content to pass-through corporate firewalls and their bandwidth-restricted internal networks. The second discussion describes the sophisticated programming that makes the TMS function in all common Internet browsers and net-devices.

You can be confident that the same training content can be delivered “at work” or “at home,” and that it will display properly on all Mac or Windows PCs, iPad or Android tablets, and even many common smart-phones. The only “technical specification” that is necessary to view training delivered by the TMS is that the devise has an internet connection, a screen, and audio speakers.

The other “technology” discussion, which is not apparent to online student/users, is the database management and web-programming necessary to support the administration and content creation functions. The administrative functions provide detailed reporting on student and lesson activity. The content creation functions facilitate video uploading tools, training page construction, and considerable attention to keeping those functions available for all combinations of computers and browsers. The TMS is a complicated system of network, database, web-construction, and supporting staff.
